1) What is Juice Ready to Drink? Legally / Industrial It is the non-gasified, non-fermented beverage obtained from the dilution into drinking water of the fruit juice, pulp or vegetal extract of its origin, added of acid and sugars, prepared through good manufacturing practices, which assure its presentation and conservation up to the moment of consumption. 2) What is the difference among juices, nectars and refreshments? The amount of pulp is the determining factor, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. - Juices - Higher pulp concentration - Color, flavor and taste are characteristic of the fruit - Pulp concentration varies according to the flavor, being possible to have at least 35% up to 50% of pulp. - Nectars - Pulp concentration varies according to the flavor, being possible to have at least 20% up to 30% of pulp. - Mixed Beverage - Non-gasified, non-fermented beverage obtained from the dilution into drinking water of two or more fruit juices, pulps or vegetal extracts with the addition of sugars, whereas the sum of the content of juices and extracts should be established by means of an administrative act. - It can also be obtained through colorants and artificial flavors, whereas in the packaging the words "artificial" and "flavor of" should be clearly stamped. - Refreshment - Non-gasified, non-fermented beverage obtained from the dilution into drinking water of the fruit juice, pulp or vegetal extract of its origin with the addition of sugars. - It can also be obtained through colorants and artificial flavors, whereas in the packaging the words "artificial" and "flavor of" should be clearly stamped. - The addition of 1 up to 10% of fruit pulp in the final beverage is necessary. 3) What is the difference between diet and light? - Diet Specific for dietary restriction (sugar, salt, fat, lactose, amino acid or protein) - Light Reduction of at least 25% of a component (usually fats or sugar). There is caloric reduction but depending on the reduced ingredient and amount. 4) What are sweeteners? They are ingredients that grant a sweet taste to the food. We use Sodium cyclamate, Sodium saccharin, acesulfame-K and Sucralose (depending on the flavor/product). 5) What is the shelf life of our products? The most of them has 12 months, but some flavors can be 6 or 8 months. 6) Why are there different shelf lives? Because there are fruit compositions and, consequently, each juice has a different shelf life. 7) How can Sufresh last 12 months and have no preservatives? It is due to its pasteurization process which raises the temperature and eliminates the beverage microorganism. 8) What is pasteurization? It is the process of eliminating live microorganisms and bacteria through the raising and fall of temperature which Sufresh undergoes. 9) What is the difference between UHT [Ultra-High-Temperature processing] and Pasteurization? In general, the UHT treatment is used in milk beverages (milk-based and with basic PH) but it has the same purpose as the pasteurization. The main difference is the final temperature of the temperature raising. 10) What is reconstituted juice? This is a juice made from concentrated juices, and not from whole juices. This juice will be diluted in order to become ready to drink. 11) Why is it necessary to shake the packaging? Because the juices and nectars contain pieces of fruits, which naturally deposit at the bottom of the packaging. So, when shaking the packaging, they become part of the juice. 12) Why are there some flavors in cans and others in 1-liter packaging? Market studies are carried out where we study the best product mix according to the habits and attitudes of our target market. |
